KING OF THE FALL

The Weeknd is one of Paul’s favorite musical artists and this piece pays homage to the role Abel’s music has played through the chapters of his life. Paul chose to go sober at the age of 24, after struggling for years indulging in alcohol and cocaine. This piece captures some of the darkness that Paul has survived and serves as a reflection of how far he has come on his own journey.

Music was extremely influential in this piece, and Paul noted how there were moments when he was listening and drawing and the piece felt as though it came alive and was speaking telepathically to him through song.
